Hub Reset Instructions:
If your SmartDry hub needs to have the Wi-Fi login details updated for a new network or has lost its connection to your current Wi-Fi please follow the instructions below.

SmartDry Generation 2 Hub DATA LED Status:
Power Button: The power button on the side of the hub manually cycles the power for the smart plug. If Auto enable is selected this will automatically cycle when the dry alert is sent. For electric dryers users can disable auto off and use the hub normally while saving an open outlet. To reset the the hub to factory default tap the power button while flashing red on initial power up.
Solid RED = Hub needs to be setup for 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi (in factory reset state)
Solid GREEN = Hub in standby waiting for activity (power on for dryer)
Solid BLUE = Hub in standby waiting for activity (power off for dryer)
Flashes GREEN/BLUE every 4-15 seconds - Normal while sensor transmits data and the dryer is running (will also flash for about 3 minutes after the dryer stops prior to sleeping)
Flashes Red then Solid GREEN = Normal boot up and ready state.
DATA LED OFF = NO power to the hub
Please follow these steps to reset your hub to factory defaults and wipe existing Wi-Fi connection details:
1. Unplug the SmartDry hub
2. Plug in the Gen 2 Smart hub
3. While the LED is flashing RED press the button on the side of the hub and the LED will turn solid RED - the hub is now in factory default mode
4. Open the SmartDry app
5. Open the setting page of the app and tap "Reset Hub" or "Setup Hub" in the menu
6. Follow the in app instructions to scan for the hub
The SmartDry Hub does not find the 2.4Ghz automatically!
Make sure the network name entered is for the 2.4Ghz network (it will not connect to 5Ghz) - if you allowed location services it will automatically fill in the name of the network your phone is connected to.

Once the hub connects it should reboot and the RED led should go away.
The hub should be plugged in with in 10 feet of the dryer for best performance but also needs good WIFI signal strength in the area it operates.
You can then start the dryer for 5-10 minutes and verify the DATA LED flashes green every 5-15 seconds, that indicates normal operation.

SmartDry Generation 1 Hub DATA LED Status:
Solid RED = Hub needs to be setup for 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi (in factory reset state)
Solid GREEN = Hub has not connected to 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi with current credentials
Flashes GREEN every 4-15 seconds - Normal while sensor transmits data and the dryer is running (will also flash for about 3 minutes after the dryer stops prior to sleeping)
Flashes Red then GREEN = Hub registered an error but is still operating normally. To clear this error the Hub needs to be unplugged for 5 seconds and then plugged back in.
DATA LED OFF = While the sensor has not been moved and sleeps this is normal
Please follow these steps to reset your hub to factory defaults and wipe existing Wi-Fi connection details:
1. Unplug the SmartDry hub
2. Press and Hold down the reset button WHILE plugging in the hub until the DATA LED turns SOLID RED
3. BEFORE proceeding verify your mobile device is connected to your Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz Band NOT the 5Ghz (SmartDry only connects to the 2.4Ghz network NOT 5Ghz)
4. Open the SmartDry app
5. Open the setting page of the app and tap "Reset Hub" or "Setup Hub" in the menu
6. Follow the in app instructions to scan for the hub

Hub and Sensor Optimal Positioning:

To get the best performance from your SmartDry, the location of the hub and sensor is important. The hub needs to be in a location that has both good Wi-Fi signal from your router and within 10 feet of the SmartDry sensor inside the dryer. The hub should be unobstructed (*meaning no walls or large objects between where it is plugged in and the dryer sensor).
When the sensor and Hub are within optimal range of each other the SmartDry Hub DATA LED should flash every 4 to 15 seconds. Longer delays (>30 seconds between flashes) means poor signal between the sensor and hub. This will effect the accuracy of the sensor and when it knows the clothes are dry or the dryer is stopped. Move the Hub to a closer outlet by the Dryer.
The sensor inside the can be attached onto the rotating portion of the drum (sensor needs to move to do its job) about half way back and pushed up against on of the paddles. Do not attach the sensor to a stationary portion of the dryer. Its needs to move with the clothes to operate properly.
