SmartDry Hub Setup Trouble shooting (iOS)

 

If the SmartDry hub fails to setup properly, please follow these steps.

 

    1.  Unplug the hub.

    2.  Turn OFF Wi-Fi on your iPhone and then turn Wi-Fi back ON after a few seconds.

    3.  Verify you have connected to your 2.4G Wi-Fi network and not a 5G network

    4.  Open the SmartDry App and navigate to the setting page and press “Reset Hub”

       This will bring you to the hub setup page where you will continue with the next steps

    5. Verify your 2.4Ghz network name is listed beside the “Network SSID:”

    6.  Enter your Wi-Fi Network Password

    7.  Press “Setup”

    8.  Then quickly plug in the Hub

    9.  Wait for a successful connection message

 

Once you get a successful setup message unplug the hub again for 3-5 seconds and then plug it back in.

The hub LED will flash quickly once, then turn solid green after 20-30 seconds.

 

If it continues to fail. Verify you have the correct password.

Check that the network is not a 5Ghz network, only works on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi

Make sure the hub is not powered prior to step 8.

 

How can I tell if my Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz?

 

SmartDry can only be connected to the 2.4 GHz band on Wi-Fi routers or access points.

 

Please keep in mind:

 

-All Wi-Fi routers have a 2.4 GHz band.

-Newer routers are often dual-band router, with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

-If both of your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands have the same name (SSID) and password, you will not have any problem connecting your Smart Home device regardless of which Wi-Fi network band your smartphone is connected to. You do not need to read further.

To find out whether you need to connect to a different Wi-Fi network to set up your device, go to Settings>Wi-Fi (or Wireless & Networks) on your smartphone.

 

How many Wi-Fi networks do you see that belong to you?

I see ONE network: If you only see one Wi-Fi network name that belongs to you, you can proceed with setting up your device with this Wi-Fi connection.

 

I see TWO or more networks: If you see two or more Wi-Fi network names that belong to you, then one may be a 5 GHz band.

 

I have more than one network name that belongs to me. How do I identify my 2.4 GHz band network?

From your smartphone's Wireless settings page, look at the names of your Wi-Fi networks.

 

A 2.4 GHz network may have "24G," "2.4," or "24" appended to the end of the network name. For example: "Mynetwork2.4"

A 5 GHz network may have "5G" or "5" appended to the end of the network name, for example "Mynetwork5"
